Jazzy Mayhem International … one of the oddest, acutely aberrant & most improbable extremist esemplastication & esoteric experimentation projects to ever escape the lab. An 8-man noise-free jazz/avant-jazz – math/break/prog – avant chamber & avant classical music – intrepid improvisation overdub crackpot & crackshot raiding party. “Conducted” by the scallywag Terrorist Kriss, now a legendary & ageing Speedcore, noise & Power Electronics madman, veteran sound engineer & former leading 00s protagonist of the Canadian Speedcore Resistance (CSR) cell who is holed up in a hermetic isolationist wilderness deep in the Canadian snow wastes. Huh? In early 2023, Baku beams Kriss six solo-drum improvisations from 2021-2020, with a carte-blanche missive to freely mongrelize & misshape … Kriss starts slathering them with strategically applicated noise, glitch, synths, field recordings, weirdness, & also draws in the mysterious “Gueze” – another incognito noise artist. Then a Dirty Dozen suicide squad of specialists are dragged into the fiasco les fantastique – Dan Burke of Illusion of Safety & the prog-rock band Cheer Accident on guitar & bass, RJ/ISP Wireless; an exiled Hong Kong multi-instrumentalist in traditional Chinese folk & chamber music & Western Classical music on Pipa, Gehu, Guanzi & Guqin, Australia’s Pataphysics on trumpet, The Slater Man; a Classical music orchestra off-shooter, avant-chamber musician & Classical composer on viola, & Korean saxophonist Sunjae Lee on tenor sax. The ensuing obstreperous & abstruse omnigatherum was “organised”, conducted, mixed & mastered under the auspices of Kriss from 2023-2026. it’s the kind of implausible, disagreeable, ludicrous, dangerous, foolhardily far-fetched & far flung hyper-oddity that “should never happen”, with the creatives entirely in control & self-determining all artistic output in a feast of psychotically reckless derring-do & drastic divergence.

Three of South Korea’s finest free-jazz & avant-garde saxophonists – Sunjae Lee (tenor sax), Junpyo Hong (alto sax) & Taekjoon Kim (Soprano & C Melody sax) are joined by the mountain madman mystic – Cursed One – for ferocious, florid, & high-end avant-garde wildfire – extreme, discordant, anti-phonic, screaming, blood-curdling, terrifying tempestuous turbo-turbulence, simultaneously exercising tight disciplines & core principles of “the old ways” & highly ornate avant-jazz sensitivity & vim through shifting methodologies, & an endless variation of arcane & abstruse bells, customised Chinese pitch gongs, African talking drum, multiple cow bells, 100 year old Japanese mokusho, bleached bones, Nepalese singing bowls, antique gongs, ancient Buddhist chimes, & heterodox cymbal. Exorcism exclamated live in the summer of 2025 at Dotolim, a leading off-grid venue for cutting edge weird shit in Seoul.
